Khaoula B. Karaweigh (b.1995. Morocco ) is a multidisciplinary artist, curator and designer based in London, United Kingdom. She holds a Master of Arts from the University of the Arts London and a Master of Architecture from The National School of Architecture in Morocco.
ART AND CURATION
Khaoula's artistic practice centers on Immigration, Cultural Identity, Trauma, Grief, and Motherhood. Her work has been exhibited in Morocco, England, and Croatia. In July 2024, she made her curatorial debut with a show on motherhood and infant feeding, just four months postpartum, in Lisson Grove, London, in collaboration with Metalore Arts.
DESIGN
With over 6 years of experience in the London design industry, Khaoula has collaborated with notable clients such as Channel 4, Universal Pictures, Tings Magazine, Testboard Technologies, City Academy, and ArtUp, delivering projects in interior and commercial styling, creative consultancy, set and costume design, project management, and senior executive support.
ACTIVISM AND COMMUNITY
Khaoula co-founded the Free Feminist Union (UFL) with two other human rights activists in my hometown of Rabat, Morocco. UFL is an NGO dedicated to combating gender-based violence against women and LGBTQ+ individuals.
She also established The North African Art Club, an online network for creatives of North African identity or heritage. This online platform promotes collaboration and cultural dialogue among members, with the hope of becoming a positive and empowering space for all participants.
